Biological Sciences Graduate Student Ombuds
An ombuds is a designated, conflict resolution practitioner who provides confidential and informal assistance on a variety of issues and concerns. The Department of Biological Sciences has two peers who have been trained by the Purdue Graduate School to help graduate students.
Rebecca Trapp
Research Area: Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
Office: LILY G-369
Email: rtrapp@purdue.edu
My name is Becca Trapp, and I’m a fourth-year Ph.D. student in ecology and evolutionary biology.
Peer ombuds are available as a strictly confidential (and perhaps more approachable) resource for conflict resolution and advice. We are available to discuss any issues you may have, whether it’s related to your work, your academic, or your personal life. In the cases where we alone cannot provide a solution to the issue you are having, we will be able to direct you to other potential resources that can.
Please use my Purdue email to contact me.

My name is Jianing Fu, and I recently completed my Ph.D. studies in structural biology during summer 2020. I am now a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biological Sciences, and I am happy to meet with graduate students and postdocs.
