-- Come get to know the new students and catch up with old friends!

Pizza Lunch: Wednesday, August 17th, in Lilly 1-117.

-- "Free Pizza!?! Woohoo!!

(Make sure you sign up in the grad office for these events so we have enough lanes and pizza for everyone!)

Final Report:

47 people participated in the 2008 Graduate retreat. Mark Nolen (Ecology) and Karla Combs (Structure) were awarded speaker prizes. Long Li and Chuck Rehrer were awarded poster prizes. In addition, the townhall meeting generated much discussion and ideas as to how the graduate program could be improved. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who made this event worthwhile.

2008 orientation was a success! Almost 50 people attended each event. We bowled, we presented posters, we dined together....Thanks for participating!

2009 BGSC goals:

  1. Facilitate discussion between the department and the graduate population.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to encourage interaction between graduate students.
  3. Continue acting as an advisory council to the department
